Restore your smile with Dental Implants in Ashfield.

Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth. They help you achieve a great smile without gaps, and provide structural support for the surrounding teeth. Did you know that having missing teeth can lead to further loss of teeth if left untreated? Dental implants provide critical lost structural support to the surrounding teeth.

Dental implants are artificial roots that are surgically placed into the jawbone to hold a replacement tooth. Having a dental implant fused to the jawbone is the closest thing to a natural tooth because it stands on its own without affecting the other teeth and has great stability. The root of the dental implant cannot be seen as it is placed within the gum line. The replacement tooth can then be precision moulded to replace the lost tooth.

What is involved?

The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months. X-rays and impressions are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. The implant is placed under local anesthetic so you do not feel anything during the whole surgical procedure. The implant is usually left under the gum for a period of 6 months to allow bone to grow and bond around it. After the healing process, an artificial tooth (crown) is attached to the implant to replace the missing tooth.

A consent form is to be signed prior to treatment. CT and surgical guide may be required at additional costs. If your dental Implant requires other procedures like bone or gum grafting, they may involve additional costs.

What are the advantages of Dental Implants?

Dental implants allow you to maintain the natural shape of your face and smile. The adjacent teeth are not damaged or cut in any way. It also helps to prevent bone loss which occurs after a tooth is extracted.

Implants are a pain free and predictable solution to replace gaps and missing teeth. For those that want to get rid of failing bridges or dentures and plates, or those that want to chew better and rebuild their confidence when smiling- implants are a long term solution for you.

Am I suitable for a Dental Implant?

Not everyone is suitable for implants. You must be in good health, have healthy gums, and have adequate bone to support the implant.
